About me and my Notary service
I qualified as a Notary Public in 2004 and so have over 20 years of experience.
I have worked for many years in Wellingborough and Northampton as a Private Client Solicitor, but have recently retired as a practising solicitor so that I can now dedicate more time to providing Notary services. You will generally need the services of a Notary in connection with documents for use abroad.
I work mainly in Wellingborough (at an office in Nene Court where there is ample free parking) but can also see clients in Northampton at the offices of EMW Law, 8 Spencer Parade, Northampton NN1 5AA. I work independently of any law firm when acting as a Notary. I see clients by appointment only and to arrange an appointment and/or to discuss your requirements please call me, contact me by email or use the enquiry facility on this website - click here for my contact page. I will do my best to reply to your enquiry within 24 hours. It will be helpful if you can email a copy of the relevant documents to me together with any instructions you have received.
Until you need the services of a Notary Public (also called a Notary or Public Notary), many people do not know what they are and what they do or the likely costs of having a document notarised and/or legalised with an Apostille or by an Embassy. The process may seem daunting because it is unfamiliar, but I am here to guide you and explain what steps need to be taken, provide an estimate of costs and disbursements and will let you know what documents I need you to provide.
Disabled access is available. If other assistance is required, e.g. an interpreter or the provision of witnesses, please let me know.
For those that cannot attend my office, I do offer home visits and for company clients I will visit your business premises. There may be an additional fee payable for travelling.
I generally work Tuesday to Friday inclusive between 10am and 4.30pm. If the need arises, I may see clients at the weekend or out of hours.
As well as notarial services, I can also act as a Commissioner for Oaths in connection with Declarations or Affidavits for use in the UK and the certification of documents to be used in the UK. Where I am acting as a Commissioner for Oaths only then the statutory fee shall be payable (£5 for each signature and £2 for each exhibit).
